Back in my Apsley marina days, Janul aka Jan Knox was my neighbour. She had one boat then . Now she has 4. She trains new boaters, drives trip boats, spent time as the main broker for Boatshed in London and is an author too (find her work on Amazon). As if that wasn’t enough, she’s married to Warren from Pumpout Boat ‘Picot’ and her neighbour is ‘Keith’ – the now legendary inspiration for much of the Angry Boater show.
The next performance of ‘Angry Boater’ is on Wed, Feb 1st @ The Backyard Comedy Club, Bethnal Green and will also feature special guest Johnny Paterson aka Johnny Diesel.
How do you get your electricity? How do you keep warm in the winter? How do you heat your water? The need to give long winded explanations to Muggles is finally over. 2 words: “Johnny Diesel.”
Topics covered include death, near death experiences & why this podcast almost didn’t happen due to Joel’s near death experience on the ramp leading down to Johnny’s barge.
Some really great stories on this episode plus discussion about the hows & whys of Johnny Diesel & some meandering psychobabble.
There’s unfinished business. Part 2 coming soon.

John Privett from London’s book barge ‘Word on the Water’ talks about becoming an anarchist and how the waterways supports & challenges his beliefs.
Young newlywed boaters, Ed & Carli Fish have been boating for 3 years. We were double moored together in East London and bumped into each other again on the Grand Union this week. In this fun discussion, we talk about the etiquette of double mooring and what it’s like to be newbies living afloat in our overcrowded metropolis.
You can read more about their experiences at Carli’s superb boating blog. https://anarrowescape.wordpress.com/
